This katana falls within the project category as it needs a little TLC. Signed "Munetsugu" in niji-mei, it is most likely gimei. It is a robust straight sword with minimal sori. There are a few shinogi-ware present but other than that the blade appears stout and should clean up with a proper polish. The tsuba is signed by Masaami Shigenobu and matches extant examples. The tsuka has been repaired and should be replaced if used to cut at some point. Attractive crane meunki are present. All fittings are antique.
